How to Control & Allocate SAS Responsiveness on a WIN Server
How to Change WIN Server Responsiveness
Overview
Your administrator could control and alter how your SAS environment allocates resources to a specific type of processing in your organization. It goes without saying that careful deliberations are needed to identify the type of processing predominantly exercised in an organization.
The two types of processing are:
- Adhoc/Interactive
- Batch
Steps
These steps are pretty much universal in all WIN servers (2012, 2016, and 2019).
- Log on to your SAS Win server as an administrator
- Bring up Control Panel

3. Click System and Security

4. Click on System

5. Select Advance System Settings

6. Select Advance tab and then click on Properties

7. Select Advance tab

To optimize performance of an interactive SAS session, select Programs.
To optimize performance of a batch SAS session, select Background services
8. Click OK
